Use the messageboard to swap tips on applying for grants or to share your experiences with other volunteers. If you've never been involved in guiding, why not post a question to girls and young women who've been involved for a while - they're bound to have the answers you need.
You might think that you have to live in a disadvantaged area to take part in SWITCH but I found it had loads to offer me, and I live in a nice town. Just give it a go!
